Virginia born and Charlotte based designer, Katie Salmon, marries a fresh, contemporary design aesthetic with her traditional roots to create timeless interiors.

Katie graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Communication, and soon after began her professional life in New York City on Wall Street as a recruiter for​ the​ investment banking industry. Feeling unfulfilled and craving a creative outlet, Katie founded The Chino​i​serie Collective on Instagram as a side pursuit. The account featured a daily post on her favorite interiors and design elements, and grew rapidly, amassing over 40,000 followers in just two years. This affirmed Katie’s interest in design, as well as what many of her friends and followers had told her: she had an eye for good design.

Taking a leap of faith to follow her passion, Katie formally began her design career in 2017, leaving the finance world to work for the inimitable designer Ashley Whittaker. It was during these years Katie learned to juxtapose color, pattern, and texture, and truly understand the intricate nuances of creating beautifully classic spaces for today's modern family.

Katie’s formative design education, combined with her years in the finance industry, allow her to bring a unique skillset to the entire design process. ​Katie is currently working on projects in New York City, Charleston, Charlotte & beyond. ​
